Does speech therapy only deal with words and language?
No. Speech therapy covers language and learning, but also the voice, swallowing and, in adults, difficulties linked to neurological conditions.
I'm Mariangela Allegrini, a speech therapist in Viterbo. I support children and teenagers, and adults too, on a path that starts with the relationship, before any technique. I also work bilingually in Italian and English: the only documented one in the Tuscia area.
Speech therapy is a journey.

What I do
Four distinct areas that often overlap. I treat them as a single path, not as boxes to tick off one at a time.
I help children find their voice. And I help parents stop worrying on their own.
When words are slow to come, or come out jumbled. We work together on sounds, sentences and ways of communicating.
Explore the areaDyslexia, dysorthography, dysgraphia, dyscalculia. We start with an assessment, usually over three sessions, to understand how your child learns.
See how it worksThe tongue pushes incorrectly and changes the posture of the mouth. A targeted path, often working side by side with the orthodontist.
Learn moreA hoarse or strained voice that often gives out. A voice assessment, for children and adults alike.
Let's talkI see children, teenagers and adults for speech therapy, in Italian or in English. Language, learning, voice and swallowing difficulties: every story begins with an assessment we do together, and no two paths are alike. I work alongside child neuropsychiatrists, orthodontists, paediatricians and schools across the Tuscia area. If you're not sure it's needed, we'll talk it through first.
